A Time of Social Distancing
I hope you are doing well and that you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.
If you're like me, you're social distancing and trying to navigate the new normal. I've cleaned, decluttered, done our taxes and dug out my stretchy pants. If ever there was a time for doing yoga at home, it's now. I'll keep you posted on how that goes, but so far they have been extremely handy given that my waistline is expanding from stress eating!
I've always been one who enjoys my own company. I have lots of interests to keep me busy, and as a photographer, there are always images to edit. The plethora of online resources available right now is almost overwhelming. So many things to learn!
If you have some free time on your hands and want some tips on how to take better pics of your dog (or any pet for that matter), click the link below to sign up for my email guide.
But I'm a creative, and there's something missing. The 'creating' part. Although there some photographers who are holding 'Porch Sessions' or using a telephoto lens to keep the required social distance, I'm currently not holding client sessions. I'm a play by the rules kinda girl. It's not worth putting myself, my family or my clients at risk. As a member of the PPOC (Professional Photographers of Canada), I'm happy to follow the recommendation to 'cancel or postpone all sessions involving people' and pets pretty much come with people. So for now, I'm enjoying time learning some new things and playing with our puppy Makena.
But, I'm not gonna lie, I'm bummed out. Before the pandemic struck, I was getting ready to launch some exciting new things, like STUDIO SESSIONS!! And I'm working with some other awesome businesses to brainstorm some fun events. But those things are on hold for the moment, but hopefully, we will have some exciting things to look forward to this summer. One hint, they involve pups, portraits, patios, and liquid refreshments. You'll just have to stay tuned for more details.
We're keeping a good attitude and trying to find humour wherever we can. It's great having a new puppy around. Makena is very socially responsible. Here he's showing his #hooman how to social distance. He's been a very patient model as well!
Now if I could only stay away from the fridge!
I'd love to hear how you're handling social distancing. Feel free to reach out and stay safe!
